So
started something she calls an 'OC tag'. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it looks like if you're tagged, then you have to fill out a form or whatever. And since this is for OC's I guess the idea is to write about an original character of mine!
Well, I have several OCs, but if I can only pick one, then I guess I have to write about my favorite necromancer,
Na'veen!
Basics
1)What's your character's name?- Na'veen Del'bren'shazoren.
2)How old is he/she?- Oh, probably the drow equivalent of her mid-20's. Around 100 years or so? I'm not too clear on human/drow age conversions.
3)Is your OC a boy or ?- She's a chick. *nods*
4)What's his/her race?- Drow (dark elf)
Appearance
1)If this character were to suddenly become part of the 3D world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get?- A ton. It's not every day you see a heavily robed, black-skinned, white-haired, red-eyed elf wandering the streets, now then, is it? Plus the fact that she'd probably be killing everything in sight.
2)Is your character considered normal in his/her own world?- Not at all. Even the chaotic dark elves shun the dark practice of necromancy, so it's something of a dirty secret of hers. The strain's beginning to wear on her mind too, so she's not always in full control of herself.
3)What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)?- Her signature blue earrings and trusty alicorn wand (few things channel death spells as well as a horn taken from the slain corpse of one of the purest creatures in the world). Otherwise, she could easily blend into a crowd of fellow clerics.
4)Would you consider your OC as attractive?- Sure. Drow are inherently beautiful, and have a high appreciation for beauty.
Personality
1)Temper?- No more than any other person, really. Sure she gets angry at times, but who doesn't? Actually, she's probably the calmest out of all her siblings. Na'veen's all about the scheming.
2)Does your character ever get depressed?- Sometimes, when she realizes that she's still got a long way to go to taking over the Undercity.
3)Leader or Follower?- Na'veen would never consent to follow anyone besides her Death God, but then again, no one in their right mind would consent to follow her. Good thing her skeletal servants don't have much of a mind at all.
4)What is the main aspect of his/her personality?- Her megalomania. Na'veen is bound and determined to take over the world. That, and she has a strong fascination with bones.
History
1)Did your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?- Drow families tend to be rather large, as everyone lives together instead of branching out on their own. Na'veen has a mother and three other sisters (two are half-sisters, but the distinction doesn't really matter - what matters is that they all have the same mother). Her father is long dead, and she has several brothers and aunts and cousins and such. They all live in House Del'bren'shazoren, which is a massive and well-fortified stalactite/stalagmite structure. House Del'bren'shazoren is a minor noble family, and is known for it's strange members... The public just doesn't quite realize how deviant the Del'bren'shazorens truly all.
2)Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why?- No, Na'veen lives at home with her family. That's what's expected of drow - the family is the most important unit, and is what most noble drow dedicate their allegiance to.
3)Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events?- Not really. Na'veen's life has been pretty ordinary for a drow (she's ostensibly a cleric, which is a common calling for noble drow females), besides the whole becoming a necromancer part. Converting to the Death God was actually something that she was pleased to do, and there haven't been any serious repercussions yet. However, there's always the future...
4)What was probably the best time in his/her life so far?- When she converted from the Spider Queen to the Death God. It granted her power, as well as a whole bunch of ways of wreaking havoc upon her family's daily life. Nothing pleases a drow more than gaining influence over others, although one has to wonder if Na'veen's actually gained control over anyone at all.
Romance
1)Single?- You betcha. Who dates a necromancer, seriously?
2)Has your OC developed any romantic relationships? If so, are they with characters made by you or other characters?- Hahaha.... No. I can't imagine Na'veen being capable of love.
3)Virgin?- I'd imagine so. Na'veen would happily kill any male before he even had time to lift up her skirt.
4)Does your character like flirting?- If it suits her needs...
Symbolism
1) What animal would you accociate your OC with? (Sorry, no creatures of myth and legend allowed!)- The spider. Na'veen loves to plot and plan, spinning webs of deceit. So much so, that she doesn't always put her grandiose schemes into effect. And even then, she usually thinks so hard about it, that she usually ends up entangling herself. Plus, she's practically poisonous - you probably wouldn't want to get anywhere near her.
2)Musical Instument?- Uhhh.... The bagpipes? o_o; They don't really 'go' with most other instruments, plus they just sound funny!
3)Element?- Darkness, most definitely. Na'veen is just... very very dark.
4)Planet?- (the sun, moon, and stars (in general! Don't go reciting star names.) do apply)- Pluto. It's the coldest planet, plus it has a loopy orbit. Na'veen's got a chilly personality, plus she's a little bonkers.
Showing the Love
1)Do you draw your character?- Ohhhhhh, indeed I do.
2)Do you write about him/her?- Only in random character profiles... like this one! I'd love to write some sort of story about her and her family someday though.
3)Do you use him/her in any rpgs?- Only one, and she was altered considerably to fit the storyline. Too bad that RP died... 'Twas fun while it lasted.
4)What other ways have you appreciated your OC?- I enact scenarios from her story in my head... That's about it. Most of my character appreciation comes in the form of artwork.
RANDOMIZE!
1)Is your character wanted for anything?- Not now, but she will be once everyone finds out her true nature. Necromancers are a threat to anyone living, really.
2)What are three weaknesses in him/her?- First of all, Na'veen is slowly going crazy, so she has random fits where she runs around and does stuff and doesn't remember it afterward. This always puts her in danger of having her secret profession revealed, although there is the added bonus that her family doesn't really take anything she says all that seriously. Secondly, she's blindly devoted to her Death God - so much so, that she can't see that she's just a simple pawn in his game. Lastly, Na'veen is physically weak and does not know how to fight. She's at a distinct disadvantage if she doesn't have her wand to hand.
3)Strengths?- Strong clerical affinity, which means that her priestess spells are particularly effective. Also, she's fiendishly clever, not to mention a charismatic speaker.
4)Does your OC drink or smoke (ect.)?- Just some wine with her meals and at parties.
5)What's one quirk about him/her?- Na'veen originally had blue eyes, but I decided that I preferred them as red. My explanation is that they somehow shifted color when she switched her allegiance from the Spider Queen to the Death Lord. For a more in-character quirk... Na'veen loves bones. She collects them and arranges them, which gives any first-time visitor to her chambers a rather nasty shock.
6)Does your character have any phobias?- None that I am aware of.
7)What could you do to get him/her into a blind rage?- Insult her god, or destroy one of her favored skeletal minions. Na'veen's self-centered. None of this 'defending the family' nonsense. She'd probably thank you if you killed one of her siblings, before proceeding to raise them from the dead.
8)Does your OC like chickens?- There aren't any chickens in the Undercity, but if there were, Na'veen would totally have a skeletal chicken as a pet.
The Final Question
What would you consider your relationship with your character to be like?- I love Na'veen, as she's my very first dark elf character, but I'd hate to be stuck in the same room as her. I prefer to stay out of her way and make sure that's she's kept busy bickering with her sisters.
