If you happen to be a Gaia member, then I'm sure you'll instantly recognize this as avatar art - this was done for Kycoo and Nala. I don't mean to sound boastful or anything, but I really do think I've outdone myself on this picture. I am really very happy with how it came out. The pose came surprisingly easily to me, and while I admit that my models did have excellent colors already picked out, I really like how the colors all came together here.
I took a few chances with the clothing folds, but they really came out quite nicely, so I'm going to see whether I can work that in to future pieces. Right as I was starting to color this, I was bored and looking for a new way to color... I'm a big fan of 's shiny coloring style, so I did a quick search on DA for a coloring tutorial, hoping to find something similar. And magically, the first one that I clicked was actually done by her! I incorporated some of her suggested techniques into the hair, but if you compare what I've got to the tutorial pictures, you'll see that they don't look the same at all. Well, they call it 'artistic license', right?
I think that's about all I have to say on the matter. Probably took me over ten hours to do, but that's spread out over several days, so I don't know exactly how long it took me. Drawn and colored in Photoshop.
Darnit, why don't I have the patience to draw pretty pictures like this of my own characters?! D:
